A Week With Mickey

What an enjoyable week we had in Orlando. Marilyn and I "did Disney" in style visiting all four theme parks and spending a couple of nights in Downtown Disney. The best part of all was having time to really connect with Maire, something that the "busyness" of life has a way of putting this ever important task on the back burner.

What a week! We almost lost track of the days and the time which, I guess is what a true vacation should do. We both found ourselves yesterday flying home excited to get back to real life but our time together last week was truly special!

Tomorrow morning we leave on vacation. Not the whole family, just Marilyn and me. It's hard to believe that we are going to Orlando and doin' Disney just the two of us. It will be a good week and a restful time of R & R with my wife and friend of nearly 28 years.

There haven't been enough of these getaways with just Maire and me through the years. She and I have put our heart, soul and energy into our six beautiful children. (We wouldn't have had it any other way!) However, we are running a marathon and not a sprint and that means that there must be time to come away often with the person that I care about most in life just to reaffirm how much she truly means to me. It's gonna be fun! Tomorrow, 10am, Northwest Airlines.

Thanks Lord for the chance to ride the Tower of Terror with my wife!!
